On the rooftop railing, right next to the biscuit tin where the clothes clips are kept, the small glass bottle was standing. The sun was going down, and the bottle had an orange light on its side.

Farzana had come up to bring down the dry clothes. The clothes are down, the chillies are gathered. The bottle goes back under the towel, and two pairs of slippers sound on the stairs going down.
